Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is reportedly willing to hold talks with United over a potential move to Old Trafford after having grown extremely frustrated with his situation at the Bernabeu.

Varane has been linked with the Red Devils on multiple occasions over the past couple of seasons, and as it appears, the French defender is finally ready to move on from Madrid in order to repair and build his injury hit career.

It was reported by Spanish outlet Don Balon (via Daily Star), that the 24-year-old has been “feeling underappreciated at the Bernabeu alongside captain Sergio Ramos”.

And to make matters worse, Los Blancos have been in the market on a regular basis looking for new centre-halves in order to add more strength to their defence.

Such stories have been troubling the Frenchman to such an extent that he is now “fed up,” and is planning to exit the Bernabeu next summer.

And with that being said, one of his long term admirers, Man United, are already trying to lure him to Old Trafford, with Varane also willing to listen to what the Premier League giants have to offer.

Red Devils’ gaffer Jose Mourinho has thus far assured Varane that “he would be an important figure at Old Trafford,” which may give the Frenchman a final push to trade his Real outfit with that of United’s.

Even though the English club brought in Victor Lindelof over the summer, the Sweden international’s recent performances have not been of the quality that Mourinho would have ideally liked.

Furthermore, the Special One’s go-to defensive stars, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones, have already missed a handful of matches due to injuries. Hence, taking account of the injury crisis, the Portuguese still feels the need to bring in more defensive options in order to challenge for domestic and European silverware.
