Holland international Memphis Depay is back in the business of playing some fantastic football, and is currently shining for Lyon in Ligue 1.

The versatile winger left Old Trafford on a rather sorry note, after failing to show his attributes in a one-and-a-half year spell.

Memphis was brought in by former manager Louis van Gaal in order to replace Angel di Maria. But after a positive start in England, the wide-man failed to ignite his form, and was cut a frustrated figure.

Last season, he failed to impress Mourinho, and was soon shipped out in the January transfer window.

Memphis has since found his feet, and is doing well at Lyon. He has been finding the back of the net very often, and his stunner against OGC Nice over the weekend completely highlights his prowess, as his side won by a 4-0 margin.

Certain section of the United fans have been voicing their opinion on social media site Twitter, as they want the 23-year-old back in Manchester.

United have the first option on re-signing Memphis if he ever leaves Lyon, after a buy-back clause was included in the £22m deal which took him to France.

Jose will be monitoring his performances, and if he continues to show his form consistently, then an outside chance remains of him rejoining the club, despite the Dutchman recently stating that he is eyeing a move to Real Madrid.

Memphis has been amongst the top scorers this season, and currently lies fifth in Ligue 1 proceedings. Interestingly his eight goals so far see him above Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar, who moved from Barcelona earlier this summer for a world record fee.

These performances and stats all but prove that Memphis is a true talent, and a lot will depend on him managing his form and keeping up his confidence.
