Zinedine Zidane Makes Manchester United Youngster His Top Transfer Target
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is planning to bring in Manchester United starlet Anthony Martial as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports.
The La Liga and European Champions were heavily linked with teen sensation Kylian Mbappe over the summer, but failed to land him. As a result, Zidane has now set his eyes on Martial, whom he sees a worthy candidate to fill Ronaldo’s shoes.
As per the report from Mirror, the French manager believes that “Martial can be a major world star and would fit perfectly into his vision for the future at the Bernabeu.”
The ageing attack of Los Blancos hasn’t been in the best form this campaign, and with Madrid having let go of the likes of Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez this summer, the Spanish outfit is now in dire need of fresh talent.
Meanwhile, Martial has been outstanding for the Red Devils this season, having already scored 7 goals in his 18 outings. But the Frenchman is still far from cementing a permanent place in Jose Mourinho’s line-up.
Having already missed on Mbappe, the La Liga giants are said to pursuing Martial with high intensity, and are ready to shell out £80 million for his services.
However, United too, are keen on holding onto their prized asset, who is on contract at Old Trafford until 2019. The youngster signed the long-term deal when the Premier League heavyweights bought him in a staggering £58 million move from Monaco in 2015.
