Not Barcelona – Angel Gomes Could Leave Old Trafford For This Shock Club
Manchester United have often proven to be the home of the finest talents in world football, and their youth academy has regularly gushed out the likes of Scholes and Giggs, who have cemented their place in footballing legend.
In the more recent era, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard seem eager to follow those footsteps. However, there is another highly rated Red Devil who has already attracted heavy interest from Barcelona, and as per latest reports, yet another European giant has joined the pursuit too.
As per an exclusive report in The Sun, United’s 17-year-old prodigy Angel Gomes was being pursued by Barcelona, which is why the youngster has been stalling the signing of a professional contract with the Old Trafford outfit.

However, the same outlet now believes that Borussia Dortmund also have the teenager on their radar, and cited a United source to have stated: “There is chatter around the club that Dortmund are the latest side in for Gomes. He is pals with Jadon Sancho and that could be something that tips the scales on whether he stays or goes.”

Sancho was pried away by the German giants from Manchester City on deadline day in August, and if his jersey number is any indication, the young Englishman was a direct replacement for the outgoing Ousmane Dembele.
Now, Gomes could potentially be inclined to follow suit as well, and if he does so, Dortmund will be an ideal destination, as the side has always proven to be immensely beneficial for young talents, as seen by the success of the likes of Dan-Axel Zagadou, Christian Pulisic, and Dembele himself.
However, Gomes certainly seems to be a Red Devil at heart, and appears to be alright with easing his way into the first team, as revealed by him to MUTV in July.
“I think people forget how young I am really. Of course, it would be a great experience to get a few more minutes in the first team under my belt at some point but I’ll just try to kick on in the Under-18s and Under-23s and learn a lot of things,” he had stated.
All three clubs are magical destinations to be employed at, so it will be fascinating to see what kind of a decision the pacey youngster makes.
