How Much It’ll Cost To Sign Alexis Sanchez In January
Manchester City were extremely close to securing the services of Arsenal ace-man Alexis Sanchez last summer, but they failed to materialize the agreement at the last moment of the transfer window.
With the Gunners failing to even make it to this year’s UEFA Champions League, the Chilean was desperate to get out of Emirates in order to shine on the European stage, and City looked the most probable destination for him.
However, reports from Independent claim that the current league leaders will return with a big offer for the forward when the winter transfer window reopens in a month’s time.
If Guardiola is successful in landing the 28-year-old, City will be impossible to beat on any ground. Pep is targeting a domestic double along with the Champions League, and therefore, he would be making sure that his team doesn’t lack the depth and quality in the business end of the season.
Even though the contract of Sanchez is due to get over next summer, and the prolific forward may not be willing to sign a new one, manager Arsene Wenger is firm in his stand to not sell the Chilean, as it would prove to be a great loss for his team.
City will reportedly have to pay a little over £50m for the former Barcelona man, but that won’t be too big an issue for the Mancunian outfit.
