Manchester United Shock Favourites To Sign Bayern Munich Midfielder

Manchester United reportedly lead the race to sign Real Madrid loanee James Rodriguez, and are joined by Chelsea.
The Colombian made a switch to Bavaria after failing to resonate with Zinedine Zidane’s tactics at the Bernabeu on a 2-year loan deal.
Since then, Rodriguez has secured 2 goals and 4 assists across all competitions in just 11 starts. Moreover, the talented midfielder is also admittedly happy with life in Germany.

“It’s a new way of life for me, but I’m happy,” the Colombian international said last month. “It’s more chilled out here – I can go out for a walk without being pestered – and I’m learning German. And, of course, Bayern are a massive club who are always challenging for honours.”

However, as per Alex Apati of Ladbrokes, the Bayern man is still open to a move away from Germany, and the elites of the Premier League are already on the case.
The Old Trafford giants are favourites to sign the creative midfielder with odds of 6/4, followed by the Blues, who hold a fair 5/2 odds (via Daily Star). And with either side keen on bringing stability in central midfield, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Rodriguez is approached.
Nevertheless, the 26-year-old has a season and a half at the Allianz Arena to go, with a reported option to permanently sign at the end of the term. So any moves for his services may prove to be hard to execute.
