After an set exciting group stage clashes, the greatest European sporting event has finally entered into its next stage – the round of 16.

The initial eight groups have been scrutinized to just 8 fixtures now, and for the first time in history, five English teams will feature in this stage of the prestigious tournament.

Naturally, fans are eager to know who their side is about to face to measure their chances of staying in the tie.

Here’s the official draw of this season’s Champions League round of 16:

Juventus vs Tottenham Hotspur

The surprise underdogs Tottenham have taken European football by surprise, and their win against Los Blancos at Wembley was a heavy statement. The Londoners’ tie against the Italian giants sure looks to be exciting and some good quality of football can be expected.

Basel vs Manchester City

Probably the easiest fixture apart from Bayern Munich’s draw, but still could spark some surprises. The Swiss giants are unpredictable, and may make things difficult for Pep Guardiola’s side. On the other hand, the Spaniard will be keen on cutting down mistakes after the loss against Shakhtar.

Porto vs Liverpool

Another draw that seems to have hit the sweet spot. Both clubs have tasted Champions League glory from unexpected positions, but have strayed far from it as of now. Nevertheless, conditions look to be just right for this clash.

Sevilla vs Manchester United

The Spanish giants have shown remarkable form in La Liga, and will be keen on carrying it on to the continental platform. And with the league title seemingly out of sights, the Red Devils are likely to give their all to swoop the Champions League title.

Real Madrid vs Paris Saint-Germain

A fierce force in Europe on one side and an unstoppable one on the other. PSG are yet to taste defeat this season, and the defending champions have had an incredible run in their favourite competition. Undoubtedly has the potential to be the be the fixture of the season.

Shakhar Donetsk vs AS Roma

A rather balanced power scale, but the Italians will be keen on getting further in the competition. However, Shakhtar have managed to surprise everyone with a win against City, and look unpredictable.

Chelsea vs Barcelona

A fixture that brings back one of the most iconic, yet rather forgettable memory. Chelsea locking horns with Barca have only spawned benchmark moments, regardless of involvement in football. However, the Catalans are unbeaten so far this season, and may have an edge over the Londoners.

Bayern Munich vs Besiktas

No arguments on if this could be the easiest fixture for the Bavarians. Though the German giants have been struggling recently, it would be a surprise if the Turkish side manage to swoop victory over them.
