Manchester United and Chelsea, apart from being bitter rivals when they clash on the pitch, have more often than not also locked horns in the transfer window. As of such, targeting the same players and then causing heavy changes in the asking price is a common sight.

The same was highly apparent in the targeting of Romelu Lukaku from back in the summer, and now, it would seem that the two Premier League giants are all set to clash on the business end of things yet again, and it looks like Chelsea will be the one to come up on top.

According to The Sun, the London Blues will look to sign wing-back Alex Sandro from Juventus early on in the upcoming winter window.

Further, it would appear that Antonio Conte is eager to make the signing, particularly after the deal collapsed back in the summer, when the Old Lady held out for a baffling fee of £80 million.

The 26-year-old Brazilian also features heavily on the radar of Jose Mourinho, who considered Sandro to be a priority signing for the summer.

All in all, the player has himself declared an intention to leave his current club, and is thought to have a natural affinity for the faithful of Stamford Bridge, where he might soon play with a blue jersey on.

Further, it certainly appears that the Red Devils are in dire need of a left-back, as the Portuguese manager is eager to offload Luke Shaw in January itself, so as to provide a solution to his selection dilemma.

Moreover, Chelsea’s reason to make the signing is to give Marcos Alonso’s role at least a semblance of a deal well done. But knowing Mourinho, it won’t be the last we’ve heard of such a situation, and it will be interesting to see how he goes about to solve it.
