David Luiz, a popular figure amongst the supporters, recently demonstrated some friction with Antonio Conte. And with that, the Brazilian’s position at the club has become somewhat unsettled.

And as per reports, Jose Mourinho intends to exploit the situation by swooping in for the talented midfielder during the January transfer window.

Owing to a horrible ankle injury, Eric Bailly reportedly requires an immediate surgery, which could see him out for two or three months.

Marcos Rojo is still recovering from his head injury, whilst Phil Jones is not expected to stay fit for a prolonged duration, and these factors have led to proposals that the Old Trafford outfit could materialise a transfer featuring a class defender in the winter window.

The Brazil international re-joined Blues from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2016, following his two-year spell at France. He was provided with a regular position by the boss, and had performed overwhelmingly great the previous season.

However, the 30-year-old hasn’t made his name on the first-team sheet since the end of October. Some speculation claims it’s in view of the fact that he had a disagreement with Conte over the team tactics recently.

Nonetheless, it’s widely believed that his ongoing issues with the knees are the definitive explanation for his absence.

Despite the fact that most managers tend to stay conservative during the January windows, Mourinho is willing to go all out, as he wishes to offload many stars and bring in a few talented footballers also in the meantime.
