Luke Shaw Replacement: Mourinho Prepares £25m Bid For Real Madrid Target
Luke Shaw’s descent into anonymity at Manchester United has been a sad one. Having been used sparingly and almost always with the looming danger of an injury above his head, it seems that his time at Old Trafford has come to an end at last.
According to a report in Guardian, Mourinho has made up his mind of letting go of Shaw next month, with Tottenham are believed to be interested.
However, what will be of more significance to earnest supporters is the player Jose Mourinho has lined up as Shaw’s replacement.
The same source added that Fulham’s young defender Ryan Sessegnon will be sought by the Red Devils in the month to come. The 17-year-old has been subject to much interest, with Spurs believed to have had a bid for him rejected in the summer.
Further, even Real Madrid are said to have put the English teen on close radar.
The source specified that United are willing to submit a £25 million bid, and that the future of Luke Shaw will not affect their pursuit of the youngster.
However, when Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic was questioned about the player’s future, he had revealed: “If we want to be competitive we must keep our important players.
“All the questions are what the value of this player is, but myself, as a coach, I prefer to stay with the more important players for the competition that is ahead of us, but on the other side I can understand the business side too.
“In this moment, I am not thinking of being without him for the season, but it is not under my control.”
With the kind of offers that United could potentially lineup, as well as interest from other big names, it seems likely that the youngster won’t remain a Championship player for long.
