Mauro Icardi is eager to secure a ‘dream’ move to Man United, according to reports in Spain.

The Argentine has been in sensational form this season, grabbing an incredible 17 goals in 19 games for Inter Milan.

Real Madrid are said to be keen on signing him as a possible replacement for Karim Benzema, although they would much rather make a move for Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who ended the year with more goals than anyone else in Europe’s elite leagues.

Meanwhile, according to Don Balon, the 24-year-old is in no rush to leave the Nerazzurri, and is keen on helping the Italian giants continue their resurrection this season, having been a key part of their rise to third place in Serie A.

At the same time, the same source also claims that the forward would be interested in a move to Old Trafford later on in his career, as he is eager to work with Jose Mourinho.

United are in need of a quality striker to give Romelu Lukaku some competition up front, and Icardi would be a great option, considering moves for Kane and Antoine Griezmann do not look likely to materialise for the Red Devils.

Icardi’s contract with Inter expires in 2021, meaning he would not come cheap.

However, with Mourinho’s recent assertions that the board needs to do more to back him up in the transfer market if United are to keep up with Man City, it appears as though he will have ample money to spend.
