The media has been full of reports claiming that Real Madrid have been targeting PSG’s record-breaking signing Neymar as their long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

To make this major move happen, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has been exploring the possibility of selling some of his key players in order to raise funds to land Neymar.

If that does happen, we could see the likes of long-term Man Utd targets Toni Kroos and Gareth Bale leave the Bernabeu in the summer.

Barring Kroos and Bale, Neymar’s arrival could see the end of Ronaldo’s glittering career with the Galacticos.

However, Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain only last summer for a world record fee of £200m, and thereby, Madrid would need to find a way to comply with FIFA’s Financial Fair Play Rules in order to land the Brazilian.

Spanish daily Don Balon reports that Perez is ready to splash the cash in order to secure the sensational forward’s services, and would therefore, be compelled to reshuffle his squad.

Incidentally, Jose Mourinho has been a long-standing admirer of both Kroos and Bale. Man Utd too, were very close to landing Kroos in the summer of 2013, while he was still at Bayern Munich, but the midfielder instead moved to the Spanish capital.

If Paris Saint-Germain were to lose Neymar, then United would likely face a stiff competition for the 2014 World Cup winner from the big spending French giants. Another club that would be interested in signing Kroos could be Pep Guardiola’s Man City.

With a possible overhaul at Madrid, one needs to wait and watch which of these interested parties ends up signing the midfield maestro.
