The contract extension talks of Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal have  been up in the air for a long time now, with the talented forward seeming very interested in seeking a move away from the Emirates.

Owing to the fact that the Chilean’s contract expires at the end of the season, Wenger realized it was better to use the financial mass the former Barca forward leaves behind, to rope in a replacement, if he were to be sold in the January window. Enter Man City.

The Citizens are reportedly set to welcome the celebrated attacker to their honourable club.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, an agreement has already been reached between the English giants and the 29-year-old worth a wage packet of 13 million pounds per season net, plus a 30 million signing bonus.

Although the deal seems alluring for Sanchez, it’s still uncertain as to whether they’ll close the deal in the January or later on in June.

If he were to leave Arsenal over the summer, the Gunners would reportedly lose their chance to bag 20 million pounds. Furthermore, the signing bonus of the Chile international would also be reduced to 15 million for a summer transfer.

Pep Guardiola, eyeing for the Golden Premier League trophy, could fortify his club’s offence by introducing the services of Alexis. Hence, the prolific gaffer naturally favours a move in the winter window, with more than 15 games left in this year’s campaign.
