Justin Kluivert Reveals What Mourinho Said To Him After The 2016-17 Europa League Final
United beat Ajax in the 2016-17 Europa final to win the coveted trophy, and Dutch youngster Justin Kluivert has revealed what Jose Mourinho said to him following the encounter.
Justin has been earning a lot of name with some sturdy performances off late, and is touted to be future superstar. The Ajax youngster is believed to be having similar attributes to his legendary father, Patrick Kluivert.
Jose Mourinho was assistant coach at Barcelona while former striker Patrick played at the Nou Camp, and the Portuguese tactician was also seen having a talk with Justin after his side’s 2-0 victory in Stockholm.
Reports have stated that United are in for the 18-year-old, and although it is too soon for him to be joining United, he is still believed to be a target for the Red Devils in the near future.
Speaking of his talk with Jose, the teenager told Algemeen Dagblad: “He just liked to see me. Mourinho knows me from the time that I was a little boy and my father played at Barcelona when Mourinho worked there as an assistant trainer.”
The promising youngster has played 20 games so far this season for Ajax, and has scored six goals in return. He could well be set to be a vital addition for United as a winger in the coming years – a position at which the club is seeking exciting talents with proven attributes.
After missing out on Inter Milan wide-man Ivan Perisic last summer, they are now being linked with a £20 million move for out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura.
The Brazilian had been a pivotal figure for PSG in the last few seasons, and he enjoyed a superb campaign during the previous season, scoring 18 goals in 52 appearances. But with Neymar and Mbappe roped in by the club last summer, he has fallen down the ranks.
Moura is being considered as a chief target by Jose, who feels he has a lot to offer. Besides the Brazilian winger, Bordeaux’s Malcom is also being monitored. The duo remains ahead of Kluivert on the club’s transfer wish-list at the moment.
