WATCH: How Jose Mourinho Reacted To Valencia’s Stunning Goal
Manchester United have been out of the prime form they displayed in the first half of this campaign, having secured only one point each from their clashes with Leicester, Southampton and Burnley.
With their arch-rivals Manchester City facing the first loss of the season last weekend, Jose Mourinho headed into the fixture with Stoke on Monday night with a positive outlook.
Inevitably, the Red Devils grappled the three points out of the important fixture, securing the second spot in the table again. The 3-0 victory was enjoyed by the supporters and teammates fairly.
However, one particular incident raised eyebrows from the audience, startling even the gaffer.
The Mancunian giants headed into the half-time with a two-goal lead, the scores being a contribution from Antonio Valencia and Anthony Martial, both through Pogba assists.
It should’ve been Pogba who starred in the match against the Potters owing to his superior performance, and especially since his assist tally equalled with Kevin de Bruyne’s (9 assists) with this game.
Nevertheless, audience attention was seized by the right-back, who netted the opener for his side.
The 32-year-old Ecuadorian hasn’t been a consistent scorer for the Old Trafford outfit, particularly since he works from full-back at the moment. But his goal was something unique, which elicited surprise in the supporters and manager. Mourinho’s reaction to the strike made it clear.

The talented defender has been tagged as a one-footed player down the years, but evidently, this left foot effort is something any left-sider would appreciate and respect.
Regardless, with this victory, United now reside 11 points below the league leaders. Even though City are in extraordinary form as of now, the gap is still scalable for Mourinho and his men.
