Manchester United are a club that rarely lack in appeal, with the illustrious side still managing to rope in both proven and promising talents.

As of such, it isn’t uncommon for players to reject other clubs as a way to indicate their preference for Old Trafford.

But it is very rare that humongous offers are refused, and even rare for said offer to come from another European giant. But that is precisely what seems to have happened in the case of Gareth Bale.

As per Diario Gol, the Welshman has blocked a huge January transfer attempt from Bayern Munich, after the Bavarians locked in an alleged £86 million bid to sign the Real Madrid forward.

The Welshman is eyeing only Manchester United as his next destination. This comes as no surprise, as the 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford ever since his then world-record transfer to the La Liga giants.

However, things might be very different this time around, after Jose Mourinho and company were successful in signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal earlier this week.

As of such, their earnest desire to have a top rated forward aiding their attack certainly seems to be filled. Thus, a potential Gareth Bale at United would be surplus to requirements.

In that case, reports also suggest that Tottenham would be willing to re-sign Bale. If that occurs, Los Blancos will certainly seek to take advantage, and will reportedly try their best to tie in Harry Kane as a part of any deal involving an exit for the injury-prone star.

One thing is clear – there is still a strong interest for Bale, evident from the attempts of Munich and the Premier League clubs. But what is more important is to see whether anything develops in this regard in the few days that remain of the winter window.
