Bad News For Martial’s Future At Old Trafford?
Anthony Martial has been having a nice time at Man United. Defying critics, the Frenchman has certainly found his style as an attacking winger, and has notched 11 goals so far this season. This number is important when one factors in the substitutions and selection hierarchy at hand.
Needless to say, he has carved a nice niche within the heart of supporters. Unfortunately, some grave news could await those that wish to see the 22-year-old continue to play in the famous red jersey.
As per RMC, talks of a contract extension for Martial have been stalled since last December, and the player feels underappreciated since then. The source added that the club is yet to put forth another offer.
With his contract due in 2019, this could potentially mean that should United wish to part ways, they’ll be likely to sell him off in the summer window itself.

The biggest factor in this is the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, which has led the ladder of offensive players at Old Trafford into a bit of a shamble. The electric performances of Martial, Rashford as well as Lingard don’t help in this regard either.

Further, the source added that Inter Milan, Tottenham, and Real Madrid have been very interested in making the signing should the player be available.
All in all, it would be a very unwise move on part of United if they let Martial go. The youngster has already shown sparks of immense brilliance, and is apt to improve further if ever given the opportunity.
By selling him prematurely, however, Jose Mourinho and company will be making the same kind of error that Chelsea have been making for years, which has seen a host of world-class talent leave Stamford Bridge.
However, should United decide to keep him, they must first win back his trust and make him feel desired at the club, otherwise the no. 11 jersey could soon find itself in need of a new name yet again.
