Cristiano Ronaldo has threatened Real Madrid with a move to Man Utd amidst ongoing contract negotiations.

There hasn’t been a season since the Portuguese’s initial move to the Spanish capital back in 2009 that he hasn’t been linked with a return to Old Trafford.

This time is no different either, as latest reports have claimed that the Red Devils are considering a dramatic move for their former prodigy.

According to Diario Gol, the mercurial winger’s camp have made clear to the club authorities that their client has significant offers from elsewhere if his demands are not met.

On the surface, though it seems like the five-time Ballon d’Or winner also fancies a return, the report claims that they have told Los Blancos that an offer of astronomical figures has been tabled by the English giants.

This might be an indication of the Portuguese international merely using the situation as a leverage to obtain a lucrative new deal.

Meanwhile, the Spanish outlet, which seems to pick its transfer news of the day by throwing darts at names of clubs and players, isn’t exactly the place to go for reliable information.

However, it does seem to be an emerging trend of Ronaldo being given a new deal every time he gets linked with a return to England. Moreover, the saga of Sergio Ramos also ended in the same fashion.

With almost next to nothing known about the situation, it’d be smart to take such news with a pinch of salt.
