From zero to a hero! That quite sums up Kostas Manolas’ week at AS Roma. On April 4, he scored one of the two own goals conceded by the Italian side against heavyweights Barcelona in the 4-1 loss in the first-leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

On Tuesday, the player netted Roma’s third goal of the night in the return leg, and it turned out to be the winner in the end.

Roma reached the second ever Champions League semi-finals in their history, and it is a moment they will remember for years and years especially, after ousting a club like that of Barcelona.

Manolas celebrated wildly after running towards his team’s dugout and getting the response from the players and the fans at the packed Stadio Olimpico.

The player was at his ecstatic best, as all the teammates hugged him to relish a cracker of a goal, and his facial reaction besides thumping his chest, said it all.

The wild celebrations in front of the crowd were a dream for Manolas & Co. The Greek player said that they always believed they could get a result in front of their fans, as he claimed: “We gave it our all and showed that in front of this crowd nobody can stop us.”
