It hasn’t been fruitful for Italian defender Matteo Darmian at Manchester United since his arrival under former manager Louis van Gaal in 2015.

The former Torino right-back has fallen down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho, and this season, chances have been very hard to come by. Darmian has seen his playing time get very scarce at the Mancunian club, and has been a frustrated figure in Manchester.

With reports stating that Jose Mourinho has already identified the players he wants to get rid off, Darmian is believed to be one of them, as he is considered surplus to requirements.

Italian champions Juventus have been linked with the versatile player for quite some time now, and it is understood that a summer move for Darmian is likely on the cards.

According to a report in Tuttosport, Darmian is said to have already given the green signal for Juve to go ahead and sign him. That, in turn, has seen negotiations for the player get started between Juventus and United.

The Italian defender is keen on a return back to his native land, and feels Juve is the best place for him to get the desired game time.

Juventus’ current full-backs, Kwadwo Asamoah, Alex Sandro, and senior figure Stephan Lichtsteiner, could be on the way out, and that opens the door for the club to get new recruits.

The Serie A leaders feel Darmian’s versatility will aid them in a massive manner, and he can get to the heights he once reached before United snapped him up.

Besides Darmian, reports state that the likes of Daley Blind and Luke Shaw are also likely to get shipped out of the club. United have plenty of defensive options, and Jose is keen to have a squad that goes all out for major trophies next season.
