Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has reportedly confided in friends that he believes Man Utd will make an attempt to sign him in the summer.

David De Gea looks likely to stay at Old Trafford beyond the summer, but there still remains a degree of uncertainty around his future, as Real Madrid continue to show an interest in bringing him back to his hometown.

Los Blancos have reportedly been eager to replace Keylor Navas, who turns 32 at the end of the year, and have a list of potential targets in mind to do so.

De Gea features high up on that list, and has been subject to speculation of a move for the last three transfer windows in a row now.

The English side are desperate to hold on to him, and are confident of being able to do so, yet have kept a list of alternatives ready in case he does decide to leave.

One of them could potentially be Barcelona shot-stopper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who according to Don Balon, believes Jose Mourinho will attempt to sign him in the summer.

£87 million is the price being quoted by the report in the Spanish news outlet, which would be a world record fee for a keeper, beating the current record of £34.7 million Man City paid to sign Ederson last summer.

The 25-year-old has kept 23 clean sheets in 43 games this season, and has established himself as one of the best keepers in Europe. Hence, it is only natural that he would command such a massive fee in the inflated transfer market of today.

As for now, De Gea has another season left to run on his current contract, and the Red Devils are doing everything in their power to tie him down with a bumper new deal.
