Why Arsenal Have Taken The Decision To NOT Sign Anthony Martial
It seems like Anthony Martial could force his way out of United after being deprived of chances since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January.
The youngster, who arrived at Old Trafford from Monaco under Louis van Gaal in 2015, has become a transfer target for several European clubs. Even Arsenal were reported to be in the mix, with Arsene Wenger a huge admirer of the player since his time at Monaco.
According to a report in Evening Standard, Martial is priced at a sum of £60 million, and that, in turn, has seen the Gunners move away from making any sort of deal in the summer. Arsenal have shifted their focus elsewhere, as they feel they have enough resources in attack.
The Europa League semi-finalists got in Henrikh Mkhitaryan from United in exchange for Sanchez, and will pull away from luring Martial.

The Frenchman started the season well, and was playing to Jose’s tunes, but things changed when Sanchez arrived. Martial was then shifted to the right flank, and all of a sudden, his confidence dipped.

Since the game against Chelsea last month, Marital has started just twice in eight games for the Red Devils. Moreover, Sanchez is also likely to start in United’s upcoming semi-final clash in the FA Cup against Tottenham Hotspur.
United have four games left in the Premier League, which includes a home tie against Arsenal. Martial, 23, knows this could be the best moment to seek a move elsewhere, where he will get regular game time.

Currently, he is behind a host of attackers in United’s pecking order. If Jose fails to guarantee him a regular berth, that would, in turn, make sense for the forward to seek new pastures.
In 42 matches this campaign, Martial has found the net 11 times. He has bagged 36 goals in 133 appearances for the club overall.
