Manchester United are ready to battle it out against rivals Tottenham Hotspur for Fulham’s young teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon, reports ESPN.

Reports claim that the reigning Europa League champions are monitoring the player’s situation at Craven Cottage, and would be willing to go the distance in order to snatch him away from Spurs.

Should Fulham be tempted to cash in on the 17-year-old player in order to free up funds, then the Premier League duo are in the driving seat to land the talented youngster.

But there is one issue that is believed to be bothering the United management, and that is the player’s interest in staying put in London.

Further reports state that United are still believed to be preparing a top bid for the youngster, who they feel will be a valuable asset for the future. Sessegnon has won both the Championship Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards this season.

The Mancunian club’s manager, Jose Mourinho, has been on the lookout for a left-back for a while, as Ashley Young is already approaching the twilight of his career.

Moreover, Luke Shaw’s situation remains unknown at the moment, whereas Daley Blind is expected to leave the club.

Sessegnon could be a good addition to the Red Devils’ squad, and could develop playing alongside Young and Marcos Rojo. If the player chooses Spurs, however, United could then make a move for Danny Rose instead.
