Manchester United To Prioritise A Move For Juventus Star
Jose Mourinho seems to be prioritising a summer move for Juventus defender Alex Sandro.
The Portuguese has failed to find a long-term solution to the left-back problem ever since his arrival at Old Trafford. Even now, Luke Shaw continues to be out of favour, whereas Ashley Young, 33, approaches the final years of his career.
In the meantime, Manchester United have been linked with several left-backs, but Spurs’ Danny Rose and Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney have been their most consistently reported targets, alongside Alex Sandro.
However, if the latest report from Manchester Evening News is to be believed, the Red Devils have given up pursuit of all their other full-back targets, prioritising a move for the Juventus defender instead.

Mourinho is supposedly prepared to let Tierney move to United’s fellow Premier League rivals, with the likes of Bournemouth and Liverpool monitoring the Scot’s situation. Moreover, his interest in signing Rose has also cooled down since January.

Therefore, Sandro remains the sole left-back candidate on Jose’s summer wish-list, and the gaffer is reportedly willing to go all out to seal the deal for the 27-year-old, even if it means using Matteo Darmian to sweeten the negotiations.
The out-of-favour Italy international has been strongly touted to return to his homeland, with Juventus being one of his most likely destinations. Therefore, United might send the former Torino man back to Turin, so as to get their hands on Sandro in return.
Mourinho had previously claimed that no team is complete without a Brazilian in it. And by signing Sandro, Jose could kill two birds with one stone – add a Brazil international to his squad, and solve the left-back crisis for good in the process.
