Anthony Martial is a player that most United fans want to see donning the Red Devils’ jersey even next season. Much doubt has surrounded his future and suitors are in the plenty.

While the club seemed initially inclined to give him a long-term contract, refusals on his part on account of lack of playing time, coupled with several reportedly attractive offers from elsewhere has led many to believe that the club will be willing to sell him in the summer.

But at the bottom of it all lies the questions over the player’s allegiances, and a recent act on part of the Frenchman seems to have assured many that he is a Red Devil at heart after all.

A Liverpool supporter seemed to have had an encounter with Martial, and tweeted this: “Anthony Martial at work, I pass by him in a Liverpool jersey, he gives me a sign that my jersey is dirty, I kiss the Liver Bird before him.”

Martial managed to catch sight of this, and his response was one that went quite well with most supporters. The Frenchman tweeted: “You should change your jersey 😉”.

Supporters took to Twitter and showed their approval, with many hoping that this would be a sign that Old Trafford will see him continue confounding defenders for several more years.

The mistake behind the lack of impact isn’t entirely his. At just 22 years of age, Jose Mourinho’s style seems to not do justice to the abilities that he and Marcus Rashford possess.

In fact, the very sign that clubs like Bayern Munich and Tottenham are queuing up for his signature shows just how well his talents are valued.

United would do good to not part ways with this sporty lad. If he is sold, clearly Mourinho hasn’t learned his lessons from selling the likes of Salah and De Bruyne.
