Italian defender Matteo Darmian is on the verge of sealing a move to Juventus, and could have a medical as early as this Friday. The deal is believed to be around the region of €12m.

The Manchester United man did not enjoy his time at the club as much as he would’ve hoped since his arrival under former manager Louis van Gaal in 2015.

The former Torino right-back fell down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho, and in the 2017-18 season, chances were very hard to come by. He featured in just 17 matches all season, which in turn showed why Jose was keen to offload the versatile player.

According to Sportitalia (via Mirror), Darmian will undergo a medical on Friday to complete his move to Italian champions Juve.

The 28-year-old defender was spotted in Milan earlier on Thursday, and is set to be Juve’s first signing of the summer. He will hope to put his disappointing stint at the Mancunian club aside, and start fresh under Massimiliano Allegri.

Earlier, reports had stated that Mourinho had already identified the players he wanted to get rid off, and Darmian topped the list.

Juve, on the other hand, were keen on him since quite some time, and this was a clear deal that was bound to happen.

United were believed to be demanding at least €20m for the player, won four trophies at the Old Trafford club during his three-year stay, as he featured in a total of 85 games. But the Old Lady club seems to have negotiated a deal worth lesser amount.

Meanwhile, Juventus’ current full-backs, Kwadwo Asamoah, Alex Sandro, and senior figure Stephan Lichtsteiner are all believed to be on the verge of departing, as the club is reportedly looking to sell the trio.
