OFFICIAL: Manchester United Announce Diogo Dalot Transfer
Manchester United have officially signed Diogo Dalot from Porto.
The 19-year-old right-back got linked with the Red Devils quite recently, and has now become their second summer signing, following the announcement of Fred just yesterday.
An official statement by the club read: “Manchester United is delighted to announce the signing of Diogo Dalot from FC Porto on a five-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year.”
Dalot himself had this to say about the switch: “Joining Manchester United is an unbelievable opportunity for me.

“I have grown up in Porto’s Academy and I am so thankful for everything they have done for me. But the chance of coming to the biggest club in the world is something I just couldn’t turn down.”
Dalot is expected to be the long-term successor to Antonio Valencia in the coveted spot.
Jose Mourinho, who is believed to have first identified the player, has this to say about the signing: “Diogo is an extremely talented young defender with all the qualities to quickly become a great player for this club.
“He has all the attributes that a full-back needs: physicality, tactical intelligence and technical quality, combined with a Porto Academy mentality which prepares players for the maturity they need at the professional level.”

Now, United will be in full swing to complete the rest of their pending business. It seems certain that Jose Mourinho has decided to start from the back, and really pick out and fill those areas in which the Red Devils are most lacking.
In that spirit, the signing of Alex Sandro to fill the left-back role is believed to be the club’s next piece of business.
Similarly, as far as leaders go in the heart of their defense, Tottenham centre-back Toby Alderweireld is also expected to follow suit, and numerous sources state that the Belgian is on the brink of a move to Old Trafford.
