Cristiano Ronaldo’s situation at Real Madrid is becoming the subject of intense speculation, as the player is touted to be moving away from the club with which he has won four Champions League titles.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been a constant source of transfer rumours since his comments after the 2018 Champions League final against Liverpool at Kiev.

Many factors need to fall into place for Real to allow Ronaldo to leave, but this time, they actually may allow him to do so.

There is no doubt that Real are interested in their long-term target Neymar.

The former Barcelona player made a move to Paris Saint-Germain last summer in what was a world record transfer, but that hasn’t stopped Real from believing that they could lure him back to Spain.

Real will have to shell out a whopping sum to get Neymar, far more than what PSG paid Barca a year ago.

And now, according to a report in Spanish outlet AS, it has been stated that if Ronaldo finds a club that can afford him, Real would be tempted to let him go, in order to use those funds to get Neymar instead.

The Brazilian could cost the Galacticos a fee in the region of €400m, and Real know there is only one way they can pay that amount – by amassing funds from the sale of Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s contract at the Bernabeu commits him to the reigning European champions until June 2021.

Other reports claim that Ronaldo has grown disappointed with life at Real not for the financial reasons, but due to his status at the club instead. His agent Jorge Mendes is expected to meet the club this week.
