There is a lot of buzz around Everton after the club roped in Marco Silva as their new manager recently.

The former Watford and Hull City boss wants to get to business straight away, and has identified Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof as a summer target.

The Swedish international arrived at United last summer, and hasn’t quite delivered the goods as much as Jose Mourinho would have liked.

The former Benfica star finds himself in a difficult situation in getting regular game time in the 2018-19 season too, as the Mancunian club has plenty of options in central defense.

Currently, there are six defenders in United’s kitty, with all of them vying for the starting berth. Even Daley Blind saw his contract get extended by a year, which suggests he might not be heading out just yet.

Everton are monitoring the situation at the Old Trafford club, and keeping all options in mind. According to reports, Silva has drawn up a short-list of transfer targets with new director of football Marcel Brands.

And a £35m bid could be in store for Lindelof, as Silva feels that the 23-year-old could aid the Toffees by improving their back-line.

But will the Old Trafford unit sell Lindelof after just one season? There are reports that suggest that Jose will be keen to give him another chance to show his mettle in the upcoming campaign.
