Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have accepted a £26.5m-a-year package, and could be unveiled as a Juventus player this weekend.

The Real Madrid forward shocked the world with his post-match interview after last season’s Champions League victory. The Portuguese captain indicated that his time at the Bernabeu could come to an end this summer.

“Now to enjoy, and in the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that they are on my side, it was very nice to be in Madrid,” the 33-year-old had stated after the final.

According to multiple sources, Ronaldo had made an extravaganza wages demand that didn’t go down well with Florentino Perez. The Real Madrid president doesn’t want to match those demand, as the forward is on the back end of his career.

After Portugal’s exit from the World Cup, reports emerged that Juventus had made an £88 million bid for Cristiano Ronaldo. And according to a source at BBC, Real Madrid have supposedly been considering the offer.

Juventus will finally get their hands on Ronaldo, as the Bianconeri were close to signing him from Sporting CP when he was 18, but Marcelo Salas, who they offered as a part of a swap deal, rejected a move to Portugal.

Eventually, Ronaldo moved to England, joining Manchester United, where he started the road to become one of the greats in football.

The Red Devils are also set to make some money if Ronaldo moves to Juventus, as they included a 2.5% sell-on clause when he joined Real Madrid nine years ago.
