Man United And Barcelona Linked With A Potential Swap Deal Involving French Stars

Manchester United are no strangers to extraordinary transfer swap deals.

The club was involved in a high-profile swap just a few months ago, when Alexis Sanchez came to Old Trafford from Arsenal, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way.

The deal was an eye-opener for many, but with Sanchez seemingly disappointing in his first few appearances for United, the club could be interested in recruiting another top player for the position.

Don Balon are now suggesting that Manchester United are in possible talks with Barcelona over a major switch between French players, which could see Ousmane Dembele join the English giants and Anthony Martial go the other way.

Dembele has looked unsettled at Barcelona since joining from Borussia Dortmund in an expensive transfer worth around €145m with add-ons, while Martial has been surplus to requirements at United since Alexis Sanchez joined the club.

Real Madrid Want United Forward As Ronaldo Replacement, Will Offer Bale In Return

United would wish to take advantage of the Martial situation, especially since the Frenchman let his frustrations out earlier this year and refused to sign a new contract.

But the report suggests that Jose Mourinho will only get his hands on Dembele if the club sells Martial and adds €25m more as part of the offer.

Alternatively, the extra amount will be waived off if United agree to sell rugged midfield player Ander Herrera to the Catalans.

Herrera is said to have impressed Barca manager Ernesto Valverde, and the two have worked together formerly at Athletic Bilbao, making it a reunion if Herrera does find himself a part of this sensational swap deal between two mammoth European clubs.

Ousmane Dembele is currently on national duty with France, while Anthony Martial missed out on the trip to Russia after failing to impress manager Didier Deschamps with his limited performances in a Manchester United shirt last season.
