Manchester United offered Anthony Martial to Paris Saint-Germain, but the French outfit refused to make a move due to his £71 million asking price.

Jose Mourinho seems to be having a terrible summer. The United gaffer has failed to make improvements to his squad that ended up 19 points behind Manchester City last season.

With the transfer deadline nearing, it looks like more players are interested in leaving Old Trafford than coming in, with Anthony Martial belonging to the former category.

The French International hasn’t been able to impress Mourinho over the past two seasons. The 22-year-old has been in poor form lately, and is yet to score a goal for the Red Devils since Alexis Sanchez’s arrival from Arsenal.

Mourinho is frustrated with the youngster’s attitude, and has been pretty vocal about it. The Portuguese boss criticized Martial for not returning to the United States after the birth of his second child. The player’s reluctance to join the squad at this moment could suggest that he is on the move.

Martial was one of the last signings under Louis van Gaal, and in his first season, the forward scored 17 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions.

But things have been downhill since then. He has scored only 19 goals in 87 appearances under Mourinho, spending a lot of his time on the bench.

As per reports, Manchester United are prepared to offload the winger, and have begun offering him to clubs around Europe. Paris United revealed that PSG were given the opportunity to bring Martial back to his homeland this summer.

However, the Parisians rejected the deal, as the Red Devils wanted £71 million in return. Moreover, Martial earns a staggering £150,000-per-week, which might also have killed any interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham and Juventus have been linked with the player throughout this summer, but they are yet to submit an official offer for the ex-Monaco starlet.
