Anthony Martial will be returning to Manchester tomorrow, after having left the US tour squad for the birth of his child.

There has been a lot of buzz around Manchester United over the past week. The Red Devils made three signing last month, but none of them are an immediate upgrade to the current squad.

Jose Mourinho is frustrated with the lack of transfer activity for the past couple of weeks. Some of the players at Old Trafford are also said to be looking to make a move away, as they seek more playing time. And one of them is Anthony Martial.

The French forward’s form has taken a tremendous dip since Mourinho’s arrival. In his debut season with the Red Devils, he scored 17 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions.

However, he has managed a mere 19 goals in two seasons combined, and is yet to find the back of the net since Alexis Sanchez joined the club. The 22-year-old is also said to be fed up by the constant criticism from the Portuguese boss, and has decided to leave the club, according to sources.

Martial had travelled with the Manchester United squad to the United States, but was forced to return to Paris midway to be present for the birth of his second child.

But Mourinho was angered because the Frenchman did not return soon enough, and as per reports, the manager is set to fine the youngster, considering the shortage of players at his disposal at the moment.

Today, Anthony Martial revealed that he will be returning to Manchester on Friday via his official Twitter account.

The tweet read: “Thank you all for your posts. My little Swan is fine, for the mom it was harder but thanks to God she’s better now. Sorry but my family will always come first… Back tomorrow in Manchester 💪🏾”.

The 22-year-old can clearly be seen hitting back at Jose Mourinho, by stating that his family would always come in the first place.

It will be interesting to see if Martial will join the training session straightaway, or soon head out the exit door instead, especially with Tottenham and Juventus rumoured to be interested in the player, despite no formal bids.
