Bayern Munich have offered Jerome Boateng to Manchester United for £50 million.

Manchester United are having a pretty terrible time in the transfer window this summer, with Jose Mourinho said to be frustrated with the club board, as they have failed to bring in the shortlisted players which were named way ahead of time.

The Red Devils are still looking to bring in a centre-back to pair up with Eric Bailly for the upcoming season. Yerry Mina seems to be the most possible option at the moment.

But now, Bayern Munich have reportedly offered United an opportunity to sign Jerome Boateng. The Sun believes that the German champions are willing to offload the player if Manchester United match their £50 million valuation.

Boateng endured a horrendous World Cup in Russia this summer. The German International failed to inspire his national team, as they were knocked out of the Group Stages.

This wouldn’t be his first time playing in the Premier League. The 29-year-old enjoyed a short spell with Manchester City, where he made 24 appearances in the 2010/11 season. He decided to leave the Cityzens the following summer, as Bayern came calling.

United had shown a keen interest in signing the German, but were informed that he didn’t want to move to England. Since then, the Reds have been pursuing Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire, but to no avail.

Mourinho wants to add an experienced defender to marshal the United defence, and Boateng fits the bill perfectly.

But United being in advanced talks with Barcelona for Yerry Mina could hamper the chances of the Bayern Munich veteran securing a return to England this summer.
