Manchester United are preparing a loan move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with an option to buy at the end of the spell.
The Red Devils have endured a terrible transfer window so far this summer, having only brought in one major recruit alongside two squad players.
Jose Mourinho had submitted a list of targets before leaving for the World Cup, but the Manchester United board has failed to meet his demands, leaving the Portuguese boss frustrated at the lack of activity shown by the higher-ups this summer.
As the transfer deadline approaches, United are being linked with a host of players around Europe.

According to sources in Italy, Manchester United are likely to reignite their interest in Lazio superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Italian reports believe that the Reds’ officials are looking to sign the midfielder on loan for one season, with an option to buy at the end of the spell.
The Mancunian giants were heavily linked with the player prior to the World Cup, competing with Real Madrid for the Serbian International’s services.
But failure to steer his country out of the Group Stages seems to have lowered Sergej’s market interest, which could make it much easier for Ed Woodward and co. to pull this transfer off.
This development makes further sense considering reports of Paul Pogba’s potential switch to Barcelona. The French International has become a top target for the Blaugrana, as Ernesto Valverde continues to search for Iniesta’s replacement.
But with the English transfer window set to close on 9th August, United could be in trouble, as Barcelona still have until the end of this month to get Pogba.
