With Real Madrid buying Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea this summer, all speculation surrounding David de Gea’s regular anticipated move to the Bernabeu was put to rest.

And now, Manchester United have wasted no time to get De Gea to agree a new deal at the club. Jose Mourinho confirmed the same in his pre-match conference ahead of the weekend clash against Brighton.

The Portuguese stated: “He likes it here, we love him. We want him to stay, he wants to stay, so when a player is not on the market, the value is zero.”

The gaffer then went on to add that the former Atletico Madrid player will be officially tied down at the club as soon as possible: “He (De Gea) is a Manchester United player and he will as soon as possible sign a new contract.”
