Luke Shaw has revealed that Jose Mourinho never tried to push him out of Old Trafford.

Manchester United have faced a difficult start of their Premier League season this time around, but one player has managed to perform consistently for the Red Devils.

Earlier this summer, there were reports which suggested Luke Shaw could be on his way out after the constant criticism from Jose Mourinho.

But the 23-year old has featured in all of United’s game so far this campaign, and the gaffer is pretty happy with his performances.

Shaw opened his scoring account this season with a goal against Leicester City on opening day. Thanks to his performances, the English International will be also turning up for his national side during this international break.

In a recent interview, Shaw revealed that Mourinho has never shown a desire to sell him since he took charge at the club. The former Southampton man believes that the manager has always trusted him, which has played a big part in his return to the starting XI.

“He [Mourinho] put his trust in me at the start of the season. I think at times if he didn’t trust me it would’ve been easy for him to say he wanted to sell me,” said the young full-back.

“I think he always believed in me and I always believed in myself and just needed to get back to what I needed to do. He’s played a big part but I’ve done a lot too to get back into his team and earn his trust back.”

Shaw’s form has solved Manchester United‘s issues on the left side of the defense, where Mourinho was forced to play Ashley Young for most parts of last season.

Injuries have been a major hurdle for the 23-year-old over the past seasons, and it will be interesting to see if he manages to keep up the good performances and stay away from injury concerns this season.
