Yes Manchester United fans, it’s time for you to look away yet again. Another day passes by, and another news of one more player ‘not coming to the club’ emerges.

It’s been a summer to forget for one and all associated with the red half of Manchester, as the transfer window was a huge disappointment, and the unhappiness has trickled down to the performances this season.

With the way the team has been performing, it will be difficult to see its involvement in the title race, with the chances of the Reds having their hands full for a heated top 4 battle that will last the entire season looking all the more likely.

According to latest reports (via Sky Sports), Lucas Hernandez is a target Jose Mourinho seems determined to acquire come January.

The Atletico Madrid defender was also a target for both Manchester clubs in the summer gone by, but him signing a new deal in Spain till 2024 broke down the possibility of any possible transfers.

Ed Woodward did try to lure Hernandez to Old Trafford by offering a sum of €80m for his services as well as doubling his salary. However, his attempts were of no use, as the player hardly showed interest, and after World Cup success, decided to stick with Atleti.

The left-back seems to be very happy under Diego Simeone at the moment, but persistence from Mourinho and United might force him to change his mind and decision.

The fallen giants of England will now be eyeing the Champions League as the title to win this season, and failure to deliver that might mean curtains for Mourinho’s time at the club.

With the Red Devils in a troublesome position already, will their power to attract big names and future stars still remain?
