Alexis Sanchez has suddenly come to the fore in media reports, and unfortunately, it isn’t for the right reasons.
The Chilean shocked the world in January after signing for Manchester United in dramatic fashion, and was expected to bring some much-needed quality to the side straight away.
However, the proof is in the pudding, and it’s clear to all watching that this particular transfer hasn’t worked out.
The ex-Gunner has been misfiring like nobody’s business, and has found himself on the sidelines in Jose Mourinho’s squad more often than not. And despite finally starting against Valencia midweek, it appears as if things didn’t go as planned.
Sanchez was substituted by his manager in the 76th minute after yet another uneventful performance, and The Sun are now reporting that the 29-year-old didn’t take to that too kindly. In fact, he completely blanked his boss after the match.
Sanchez’s teammate Paul Pogba has also been in the news lately, after it emerged that the Frenchman had been gagged and warned by the club for anti-United and anti-Mourinho comments made in public.
Therefore, it might be possible that Sanchez didn’t want to end up in a similar position by speaking against his higher-ups. Regardless, it is an ugly situation all around.
Not just this, but Sanchez is reported to have also tried talking to his agent over working out something for the future, as he knows his form hasn’t been up to the mark.
The forward’s problems with Mourinho have also reached boiling point, and it could only be a matter of time before we see the Chilean out of Manchester.
A source close to the forward even mentioned: “He is totally fed up and at the end of his tether with Mourinho,” further raising speculation over his commitment to the club, its fans, and indeed, the manager.
