Paul Pogba Names Four Players He Thinks Should Win The 2018 Ballon D’Or
Manchester United talisman Paul Pogba has admitted that he wants a Frenchman to win the Ballon d’Or award.
Pogba himself was named on the 30-man shortlist for the best player of the year award, along with several other players from France’s 2018 World Cup-winning squad.
Spurs shot-stopper Hugo Lloris and Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante are a part of the aforementioned list, along with Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann, Real Madrid duo Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane, and PSG sensation Kylian Mbappe.
While all these players are top candidates to win the prestigious prize, a few footballing fans believe Pogba has a decent shot at winning the award, mainly due to his heroics during Les Bleus’ World Cup victory in Russia.

However, the Manchester United man himself believes four of his fellow countrymen deserve the Ballon d’Or a lot more than he does, as they were also involvement in helping their respective clubs win domestic and continental silverware.
Speaking to AFP (via Sky Sports), Pogba stated: “Whether it’s Grizou (Griezmann), Kylian (Mbappe) or Raph’ (Varane), they deserve it much more than me.
“I can not designate one. But I hope with all my heart that this is one of the three. One of the four also because there is NG (Kante). That’s all I hope for anyway, because there are many who deserve it. I do not put myself in.”
Could one of these World champions finally end the 10-year-long streak held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi by bagging the award on December 3?
