Aaron Ramsey is likely to leave Arsenal in the near future, which has opened up an opportunity for Manchester United to snap him up.

It is believed that the United management is keen to sign Ramsey, who will be out of contract at the Emirates at the end of the season. (via Mirror)

Reports have stated that the Gunners were keen to hold on to their star performer, but have now withdrawn the contract offer presented to him.

The Mancunians are keen to snap him up and bolster their midfield options, as Ramsey has a knack of setting up goals and can score as well.

Manchester United‘s midfield has lacked dynamism, and there’s too much pressure on Paul Pogba to be the visionary. Therefore, signing Ramsey could very well ease the pressure off the Frenchman.

Former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to rope in Ramsey back in 2008, but the talented midfielder chose to sign for Arsenal in a £4.8million deal from Cardiff instead.

It has also been said that the Old Trafford club tried to land Ramsey last summer, but Arsenal boss Unai Emery ruled out any move. But Ramsey and Emery haven’t enjoyed a good relation so far, and that has made the former believe that this is the right time to move out.

Emery was the reason behind Arsenal‘s decision to back away from a new lucrative deal of £185,000-a-week contract offer for Ramsey, but that decision could now see the star player leave the London club for free.
