Didier Drogba was a real workhorse as far as his stint in the Premier League was concerned. A true Jose Mourinho player, the Ivory Coast international was a real hero at Chelsea during his stay in England.

Drogba took 220 matches to reach the 100-goal mark in the EPL, and earlier this year, Manchester United player Romelu Lukaku broke his record. The Belgian achieved 100 goals in 216 matches, surpassing Drogba in this process.

Lukaku, who considers Drogba as one of his idols, recently revealed that the former Blues man sent him a message post his overtaking of the former. Drogba was at his humorous best in his reply to the Belgian striker.

Drogba won 4 league trophies at Chelsea, and he showed that he is still the boss by sending a Snapchat regarding the same. Lukaku, on the other hand, is yet to win a PL title.

“When that happened, he (Drogba) sent me four cups on Snapchat,” Lukaku told manutd.com. “We speak every day and it’s really nice because he’s been part of the process.”

The ex-Everton forward is targeting former Arsenal hero Thierry Henry next. Henry scored an impressive 175 PL goals, and Lukaku (105) is eyeing this number.

“Now I’m talking to Henry saying ‘I’m coming for you’ on 175,” added Lukaku. “I’m laughing saying it to him but, deep down, inside he knows I’m dead serious.”

When it comes to the quickest to reach 100, though, Lukaku is way behind some of the stalwarts. Alan Shearer got the same in just 124 games, whereas Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero took 147. Henry got to 100 in 160 games.

Now, the focus will be on Lukaku, as he slowly moves forward and gets to Henry’s 175 goals.
