Tough results, managerial woes, and unpredictability on and off the pitch are some of the sad sights that Manchester United fans have become accustomed to.

Apart from that, there is a recent consistency that has come about at Old Trafford, and the supporters do not know exactly what to make of that.

A man they have loved and adored, Patrice Evra, has been spotted sitting with a man they want out of the club, Ed Woodward, in recent games. The executive vice-chairman has been seen alongside the former French left-back in the directors’ box this season.

The beloved Manchester United left-back has been a part of the behind-the-scenes works in recent weeks, as he has been catching up with players after matches, and also seen exchanging friendlies with Jose Mourinho every now and then.

Talks of a sensational return to the Theatre of Dreams as a manager or coach have been doing the rounds this season, but the fact that Evra is yet to retire raises questions over the possibility of that happening.

“It is just two friends catching up,” is what Manchester Evening News have reported Evra as saying.

The 37-year-old was offered a new contract at Old Trafford in 2014, but decided to move away from Manchester, and went to Juventus. The Frenchman won more trophies with the Old Lady, before going out for spells with Marseille and West Ham United.

Manchester United are looking for a technical director for the first ever time, and despite what might happen about that particular position, the fans would certainly like to see a familiar face return home – especially one who loves this game.
