Lukaku To Return To The Starting Lineup Against Bournemouth, Hints Mourinho
Romelu Lukaku appears set to return to the starting lineup for Manchester United‘s upcoming clash against Bournemouth.
The star striker has cut a frustrated figure in front of goal lately, having failed to score in his last nine appearances for the Red Devils.
His goal drought led many supporters to call for him being benched, and so he was, as Marcus Rashford replaced the Belgian international in United’s 2-1 win over Everton last weekend.
Rashford failed to score against the Toffees as well, but he was an active presence at the front, his movement aiding the likes of Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba to dominate, until he was eventually subbed off for Lukaku himself.

Now, the 25-year-old looks set to make a return to the starting lineup, as the Mancunian giants visit the Vitality Stadium for their next Premier League encounter on Saturday.
Mourinho hinted as much in his pre-match press conference, claiming that resting Lukaku last Sunday had worked out well for the forward.

Jose was also asked why Lukaku did not start the game against his former club, to which the Portuguese replied (via M.E.N.): “The reason is he is playing lots of matches and lately, not just not scoring goals, but also not showing lots of confidence.
“Sometimes we decide that the best thing for the players is to not be on the pitch, to be protected and away from the initial pressure.”
Will Lukaku finally end his drought and find the back of the net against the Cherries?
