Anthony Martial has simply been in sublime form lately. The player who once struggled to get into Jose Mourinho’s starting lineup is now one of the first names on the Manchester United team sheet, all thanks to himself.

The Frenchman continued his heroics in the Red Devils’ 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, as he grabbed the crucial equalizer – his 5th goal in the last 5 games – to level the scores before the break.

The youngster appears to be under the ‘Luke Shaw effect’, as he has gone from being regularly criticised by Mourinho to being urged to sign a new contract with the club by the Portuguese tactician himself, just like Luke Shaw did the previous month.

The 22-year-old has earned plaudits from the manager, supporters, and pundits alike, and now, a former Manchester United player has also joined the party through social networking site, Instagram.

Former Reds’ striker Dimitar Berbatov was seen indirectly praising Martial, by commenting on an Instagram post uploaded by Manchester United‘s official account.

The Bulgarian striker joked about Martial’s brilliance being a simple byproduct of the time they spent training and playing together at Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco.

After getting released by Fulham in January 2014, Berbatov signed for Monaco as a replacement for the then injured Radamel Falcao.

The 37-year-old shared a dressing room with Anthony Martial for one-and-a-half seasons, before the duo departed from France together in September 2015.

Following Berbatov’s comment on the Insta post, Martial made an immediate reply to his claim. The France international humbly admitted that the experienced veteran wasn’t entirely wrong, winning everyone’s hearts in the process yet again.
