Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has gained the limelight once again moments after Jose Mourinho was sacked by the club on Tuesday.

In the wake of the Portuguese’s sacking, Pogba put up a social media post, which featured a picture of himself smiling ambiguously with the words written, ‘caption this’.  The post was then deleted by the Frenchman.

This drew a lot of attention from fans and pundits alike. It did not go well with former United defender Gary Neville, who slammed the midfielder.

Neville was supported by former English international and Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who said, “Spot on! Plenty of clubs in Europe doing fine without him!!”

Former United hero Patrice Evra slammed everyone for focusing on Pogba and Jose. He asked for a wave of positivity.

Journalist Chris Williams stated that Pogba’s post was a scheduled event which was part of a marketing campaign. But it was taken down as things went out of hand on social media sites.

Pogba and Jose had shared a fractious relationship between them since last season. When Mourinho appointed Pogba as captain in absence of Antonio Valencia for United’s first game of the season, there was a hope among fans that things are on the better side.

But Pogba was stripped of vice-captaincy and nothing seemed to go on the right note between the duo. Jose criticised the player, whose performances took a beating. Recently, he was dropped from the last few EPL matches.
