Manchester United have gone on to sack Jose Mourinho, which comes in as a big news.

He leaves as Manchester United manager after two-and-a-half years in charge. Jose had joined the club in 2016 and helped the team to three trophies in his debut season. In 2017-18, he led the side to a second place finish.

But from the start of 2018-19 season things went negative. From the pre-season itself, United found it hard. And the conflicts on and off the field hampered the spirit. The team has performed badly this season and are already out of the EPL title race besides fighting for the top 4.

A club statement said: “The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.

“A new caretaker-manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”

Jose’s last match was a 1-3 defeat against Liverpool over the weekend.
