The Only Three United Players To Have Bid Mourinho Farewell On Social Media
After several months of internal disagreements and on-pitch inconsistency, Manchester United finally parted ways with Jose Mourinho earlier this week.
While the sacking itself did not surprise many, it was the timing of the decision that raised quite a few eyebrows, especially due to the unavailability of many top managerial candidates midway through the season.
However, the Red Devils instantly appointed an interim manager in the form of club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with his side set to kick the new saga off against Cardiff this weekend.
Before ushering into the new phase, however, some Manchester United players decided to pay tribute to the one that was recently concluded, by expressing their gratitude towards Jose Mourinho.

Much to everyone’s surprise, only three members of the current squad posted farewell messages for the Portuguese tactician on social media, the first of which was by academy graduate Jesse Lingard.
The Englishman well and truly established himself as a regular first-team player under Jose, and therefore, had much to thank the gaffer for. The forward posted:

Eric Bailly was one of the shock candidates to have bid farewell to the 55-year-old, considering how the Ivory Coast international fell out of the tactician’s favour, and was sidelined for months altogether.
Thanking Jose for handing him his Manchester United debut, the centre-back stated:
Whatever they may say, I will always be thankful to the person who gave me the chance to make my debut at Old Trafford. Thank you for what you have taught me. Good luck, coach. pic.twitter.com/Xj2IZJuYxu

Lastly, it was one of Jose’s final Old Trafford signings, Diogo Dalot, who thanked his fellow compatriot for handing him the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of donning the famous red jersey of Manchester.
It’s always tough for everyone involved with the club when something like this happens. However I’d like to say, that I will always be grateful to José Mourinho for this wonderful opportunity and bringing me to @ManUtd. pic.twitter.com/hxrlksz8uD
