What was once an inevitability became reality a few days ago, as Jose Mourinho was sacked from the position of manager of Manchester United.

Dressing room clashes, egos of the manager and his players, boring style of football, and no desperation to win were enough reasons for the United board to decide that it was finally time to let Mourinho go.

Before the footballing world had enough time to reflect upon the sacking, United announced Ole Gunnar Solskjær as the temporary manager till the end of the season, and the smiles were instantly back.

The baby-faced assassin is a legend of Old Trafford and the move is sure to bring back a sense of oneness and a priority of attacking and entertaining football to the club.

Along with Mike Phelan and Michael Carrick, the Red Devils’ supporters are finally looking forward to the rest of the campaign with excitement and no pressure.

However, Ole’s toughest test as United boss will come early in 2019, as his side will face a star-studded Paris Saint-Germain in a two-legged round of 16 fixture in the Champions League.

The French side’s starman, Neymar, was happy with the draw, and is looking forward to facing a big side like United in the competition.

While speaking about the Mourinho sacking, he said: “The coach has changed and it will be a different playing style – they’re in the process of changing things up – but we know the quality they have.”

The Brazilian also mentioned: “I love the big matches and it’s always a pleasure to play in them. I’m very happy to be taking on Manchester United.”

Game on from Neymar, but will United be ready to face him?
