Solskjaer’s Witty Response When Asked About Man United’s Defensive Issues
Despite Manchester United‘s brilliant attacking displays, it is of no doubt that the team desperately needs to bring in defensive reinforcements as soon as possible.
The Reds have only managed to keep 6 clean sheets in all competitions so far this season, having already let 38 goals into the back of their net.
While Victor Lindelof has been a real revelation in the heart of their defence, he has lacked an able partner to form a strong centre-back pairing.
Phil Jones and Eric Bailly have been largely inconsistent, with the latter currently unavailable due to the red card he picked up against Bournemouth. Further, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo have remained sidelined through injuries as well.

Ahead of the Newcastle encounter, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about the selection issues he faced when it came to defenders, as he only had two centre-backs available for the game against the Magpies.
But the Norwegian had a witty answer ready, as he simply replied: “That’s enough, innit?”

In spite of the wit, however, Manchester United definitely need to dip into the transfer market and improve their backline if they are to compete against the top teams.
The Red Devils have been linked with several world-class defenders, but it remains to be seen precisely which of those targets end up arriving at Old Trafford.
